Interested in the most modern and up-to-date tools to acquire and maintain sobriety from drugs, alcohol and other addictive behaviors?

Join us for the second annual SMART Recovery Tools Conference: Techniques to Become and Stay Sober on Saturday, October 21, 2017, at St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Laurel, Maryland.

The keynote speaker is Professor Carlo DiClemente, Ph.D., Professor of Psychology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and the author of the "Transtheoretical Model of Behavior Change" - better known as the "Stages of Change."

Professor DiClemente will discuss the Stages of Changes and the related Processes of Change, based on his latest research.

Three additional speakers will focus on which of the SMART Recovery Tools work best during which of the Stages of Change.

The luncheon address will be by Barry Grant, MHS, CADC, CCDC, recent recepient of awards for bringing SMART Recovery meetings into the corrections system in Maryland.

A question-and-answer session expressly for the professional community concludes the conference.

The SMART Recovery Tools Conference: Techniques to Become and Stay Sober is open to all SMART Recovery meeting attendees, facilitators and volunteers - and all addiction treatment professionals.

Five level two CEUs will be provided to professionals (along with a SMART Recovery Handbook) who register and attend.

This event is an outstanding once-a-year opportunity for individuals interested in beginning recovery and individuals in recovery - together with the professionals who guide them - to learn critical tools to leave behind a life dependent on addictive substances and behaviors.
